Construction Manager, Airports

Responsibilities

• Oversee field construction administration and coordination for the Austin Airport improvements project
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, budget, and schedule
• Perform QC checks on work products and support the APM in coordinating with various city departments
• Act as a liaison between contractors and internal airport stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, and Security
• Manage change management, scope development, and the review of contractor estimates and change orders
• Review and approve contractor Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and logistics plans
• Monitor compliance with environmental requirements in collaboration with the Environmental Officer
• Lead periodic construction meetings to resolve issues impacting cost and schedule
• Review daily construction reports and weekly work plans to ensure schedule compliance

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the construction industry
• Expertise in vertical building construction and navigating design documents
• Strong knowledge of airport environmental codes and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with clients, airlines, and stakeholders
• Proven leadership and team management abilities in dynamic construction environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation
• Proficiency in Primavera P6
