Construction Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections on public works projects including water, sewer, storm drain, and concrete improvements
• Verify construction complies with plans, specifications, and agency standards
• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting progress, quantities, and issues
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and public agency representatives
• Monitor material quality, installation methods, and workmanship
• Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and job-site requirements
• Maintain accurate records of construction activities and testing results

Requirements

• 3+ years of construction inspection experience on public works or civil infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience in utility and roadway construction
• Experience working with municipal agencies or transportation agencies
• Valid driver's license with 3 or less demerit points
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level I or higher
• Caltrans JTCP (Soils/Aggregate or Asphalt)
• ACI Field Technician Grade I
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
• ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor
• Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety Certification
• OSHA 10
