Construction Field Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity calculations, material takeoffs, and basic engineering calculations
• Support field surveying, work layout, and the compilation of as-built data
• Assist in the preparation of work plans, work packages, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs)
• Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
• Maintain project records including daily reports, RFIs, photographs, and correspondence
• Enter data into job cost systems and assist in generating change orders
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and safety training
• Assist in estimating by reviewing historical data and performing plan/specification reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering or equivalent experience and education
• At least 2 years of experience in the construction field, preferably in vertical construction
• Working knowledge of CPM scheduling, unit man-hour performance, material control, and estimating
• Proven experience with leadership, people management, and professional communication
• Willingness to travel and relocate on an as-needed basis to support various project sites
