Construction Administrator

Responsibilities

• Serve as a direct liaison during the construction process for public/state construction projects
• Read site civil plans including grading, site utilities, and stormwater control measures
• Communicate effectively with field construction personnel and design staff
• Observe required standard utility testing for municipal and regulatory compliance
• Prepare bid packages and administer local/state bid processes
• Conduct pre-construction/progress meetings and process contractor pay applications
• Evaluate and negotiate contractor change orders
• Perform thorough site inspections and document progress and plan compliance
• Review shop drawings and perform water, sewer, and stormwater inspections
• Provide constructability reviews of project plans
• Participate in hydrant flow tests and confined space inspections
• Prepare preliminary site civil cost and bond estimates

Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• 5-10 years of experience in Land Development and Utility Construction
• Experience with project management and scheduling software (Procore, PIM, MS Project)
• Experience with site and utility construction estimation
• Ability to work primarily outdoors in varying environmental conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand or walk for 8-12 hours a day

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with North Carolina State Construction Office
