Construction Administration/Site Observation/Field Specialist

Responsibilities

• Review proposals regarding fees for technical requirements from schematic design through implementation
• Prepare design development and construction drawings and document sets
• Manage construction administration including submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
• Write technical specifications
• Monitor projects under construction and issue field observation reports
• Elevate construction quality by working with suppliers and contractors on material selection and mock-ups
• Attend and participate in project meetings
• Collaborate with the design team from conceptual design through implementation
• Prepare opinion of cost estimates

Requirements

• Professional undergraduate or graduate degree in landscape architecture, architecture, planning, urban design, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in a design office
• Broad knowledge of landscape architectural construction
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014+, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu Studio
• Ability and willingness to travel for material selection and construction observation worldwide
• Technical understanding of landscape architecture site development elements
• Regional plant material knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensure as a landscape architect, planner, or architect (or in progress)
• Experience with Revit, PlanGrid, ProCore, or Google Earth Pro
• Skills in hand sketching or 3D modeling (SketchUp or Rhino)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
