Conflicts Attorney

Responsibilities

• Analyze conflict of interest reports for new firm representations and lateral attorney hires to ensure compliance with risk management policies.
• Resolve conflict of interest issues, including obtaining necessary waivers and drafting ethics wall memos.
• Review and edit draft engagement letters for compliance with professional responsibility rules.
• Proactively communicate complex conflicts issues to partners and management.
• Review client outside counsel guidelines and assess the firm's ability to comply.
• Supervise Resolution Analysts' clearance efforts and processes.
• Consult with partners and the professional responsibility committee to maintain effective screening restrictions.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of all conflicts resolutions and related communications.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer or solicitor.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working within a conflicts department.
• Deep knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles and professional responsibility rules across various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency with legal software such as Intapp, D&B/Hoovers, CapIQ, or BvD.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a complex workload and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• High level of attention to detail and a methodological approach to decision-making.
