Conflicts Attorney

Responsibilities

• Analyze conflict of interest reports for new firm representations and lateral attorney hires to ensure compliance with risk management policies.
• Resolve conflict of interest issues, including obtaining necessary waivers and drafting ethics wall memos.
• Review and edit draft engagement letters for compliance with professional responsibility rules.
• Proactively communicate complex conflicts issues to partners and management.
• Review client outside counsel guidelines and assess the firm's ability to comply.
• Supervise Resolution Analysts' clearance efforts and processes.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of all conflicts resolutions and related communications.
• Perform corporate research and develop expertise on conflicts rules in specific practice areas.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer or solicitor.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lawyer/solicitor in a conflicts department.
• Deep knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles under professional responsibility rules in various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency with legal software such as Intapp, D&B/Hoovers, CapIQ, or BvD.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight project deadlines and manage competing demands.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with attorneys and staff.
