Conflicts Attorney

Responsibilities

• Manage and clear lateral attorney conflicts of interest and new client/matter intake processes.
• Assist in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of Ethical Walls.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for conflicts and new matter intake technologies, including Intapp Open and Intapp Terms.
• Advise attorneys and staff on the Rules of Professional Conduct regarding conflicts and engagement/waiver letters.
• Facilitate timely resolution of potential conflict problems firm-wide and respond to Partner inquiries.
• Review daily new matter lists and engagement terms for potential conflicts or business issues.
• Support the Director of Risk Management and the Business Review Committee with assigned tasks and reporting.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney with knowledge of the Rules of Professional Conduct as they relate to conflicts.
• 2+ years of experience practicing in a law firm, preferably a large or mid-size firm.
• Proficient knowledge of large firm practices and operations.
• Strong analytical skills and sound judgment for evaluating and clearing conflicts.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage a heavy workload.
• Ability to respond to emergencies after normal business hours as needed.
