About the role

Responsibilities

  • Process conflicts searches using internal proprietary databases and third-party research tools
  • Research company information from external sources to establish corporate structures and management profiles
  • Analyze conflicts results to identify and highlight critical issues for firm partners
  • Review intake requests to ensure clarity regarding new or existing client matters
  • Perform data entry and analysis within the Firm’s conflicts and new matter intake systems
  • Verify that all conflicts reports are complete, consistent, and accurate according to Firm standards
  • Communicate potential conflicts and unresolved issues to Partners, the Intake/Conflicts Manager, or the Office of General Counsel
  • Assist in the training and development of other Conflicts Analysts and Clerks
  • Contribute to improvements in processes, procedures, and technology to enhance efficiency

Requirements

  • University degree
  • 3-4 years of experience as a Conflict Analyst, preferably in a large law firm
  • Strong knowledge of legal conflicts and related ethical rules
  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based systems
  • Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment
  • Strong discretion when handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or studies in applicable areas such as paralegal or legal assistant work
  • Familiarity with CMS/Aderant, Dun & Bradstreet, and Hoovers
