Configuration Manager Specialist

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly updates on configuration management (CM) planning, item status, and audits to leadership
• Provide insights and recommendations for hardware configuration items aligned with customer standards
• Develop and manage comprehensive CM procedures, work instructions, and policy manuals
• Configure and maintain CM tools to support identification, control, reporting, and delivery processes
• Execute release management activities to ensure new product operating parameters are documented and compliant
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline IT workflows and promote best practices
• Refine hardware deployment processes to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational goals

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI (or TS with ability to acquire SCI)
• 10 years of relevant experience in configuration management
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow CMDB (CI classes, relationships, reconciliation, and governance)
• Deep understanding of hardware lifecycle processes from design through disposal
• Demonstrated expertise with ITIL-aligned processes
• Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
• One of the following 8140 IAT Level II or III baseline certifications
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and system baselines
• Experience supporting DoD programs and familiarity with DoD IT service delivery standards

• Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification
• CM2-PRO Certification
• ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CIS–CMDB, ITSM, Discovery)
• ITIL V3-4 Foundation Certification
• NDIA CDM Certification
• Data Management Certification
