About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic CT procedures while applying radiation protection principles to minimize patient exposure
- Identify and administer correct contrast media following departmental protocols and aseptic techniques
- Respond to changing patient physical conditions, including airway/breathing changes or acute changes in consciousness
- Maintain current ARRT registration and comply with State of Michigan and American College of Radiology requirements
- Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical information, provide instructions, and relieve anxiety
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of protocol changes, patient responses, and communications to radiologists
- Safely transfer patients to and from transport devices and the CT table
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification and Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) upon hire
- Reasonable experience in diagnostic radiography or computerized tomography
- Ability to maintain CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) Post Primary certification
- Experience with PACS and Epic systems
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong fine motor skills and manual dexterity
- Ability to function effectively in dynamic, high-stress environments
