Computer Systems Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain cyber range and computer test bed environments supporting cybersecurity training, testing, and mission operations.
• Implement and manage enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, Active Directory, VPNs, VLANs, and SANs.
• Support the deployment and administration of physical, virtual, and cloud-based systems utilizing VMware, KVM, and Xen.
• Develop and maintain automation, provisioning, and configuration management solutions using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Python, and Bash.
• Administer Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring system performance, availability, and security.
• Monitor network and infrastructure performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and address network vulnerabilities and security risks while supporting cybersecurity best practices.
• Support the integration of specialized technologies, including ICS/SCADA, IoT, RF devices, and camera systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT II requirements.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the configuration and operation of cyber range or computer test bed environments.
• Demonstrated experience designing and configuring computer networks (routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, etc.) using bare metal and virtualized systems.
• Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Chef, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Expertise with hypervisors including VMware, KVM, or Xen.
• Experience with Windows enterprise and Linux server/operating systems engineering and administration.
• Experience with a wide variety of technology including camera systems, ICS/SCADA, IoT, and RF devices.
