Computer Support Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, classroom technology, and access control systems
• Install new hardware, software upgrades, patches, and network/phone cabling
• Organize Student Technical Assistants and collaborate with computer support staff
• Configure computers and peripheral hardware to established specifications
• Install and configure network printers and ensure phone connectivity
• Troubleshoot network problems and isolate technical issues
• Test cables and other equipment as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in computer science or a related field
• Two years of repair and networking experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of current information technology and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience maintaining computer hardware and software
• Skill in assisting users with problem determination and resolution
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
• Strong oral and written communication skills
