Computer Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software systems for satellite ground stations to support communication and mission operations
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and technical leads to gather requirements and deliver scalable software applications
• Develop and maintain software using Java and C++ within Unix/Linux environments
• Enhance user experience to support effective operational environments
• Utilize debugging tools, static analysis, and test harnesses to troubleshoot complex software applications and libraries
• Engage with multidisciplinary specialists in fields such as data fusion, signal processing, cloud computing, and machine learning

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI security clearance
• Proficiency in C++ object-oriented programming
• Experience with Java and Python
• Experience working in Unix/Linux operating environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or a highly related field
• Experience with modern software development practices and Agile methodologies
• Experience with configuration management tools such as GitLab
• Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices
• Experience in developing software for satellite ground stations or aerospace applications
• Knowledge of command and control technologies and telemetry processing software
