Compute Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and computational infrastructure management for AI and advanced computing research projects.
• Identify, evaluate, and deploy open-source and proprietary technologies to meet evolving infrastructure requirements.
• Implement performant solutions that meet industry compliance and security standards while enabling rapid development workflows.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD systems for geographically distributed developers and applications.
• Manage mixed-type network storage systems and integrate workflow orchestration systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to maximize system resource utilization.
• Assist existing programs by providing infrastructure management advice and working with subject matter expert teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience managing production-grade compute clusters.
• Proficiency with Slurm and Kubernetes for workload management.
• Hands-on experience with containerized Linux workloads, including GPU-accelerated configurations.
• Proficiency with modern machine-learning hosting software frameworks (e.g., NVIDIA Dynamo, TensorFlow Serving, Ray).
• In-depth knowledge of data center networking technologies and solutions.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
• Strong technical writing skills and a track record of collaborative impact in high-intensity environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert-level experience in software and hardware frameworks driving modern AI.
• Prior leadership of data center infrastructure initiatives, such as hardware scalability or large-scale upgrades.
• Expertise in AI model performance monitoring or network and storage optimization.
• Experience working with science-focused institutions, such as philanthropic organizations or academic research institutions.
• Ability to translate technical concepts across multiple scientific disciplines.
