Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, ecologists, and planners to design nature-centric developments
  • Use EDEN’s analytical and simulation tools to optimize land-use configurations for ecosystem services
  • Develop and visualize design scenarios that balance ecological and human systems
  • Build computational design workflows to analyze and optimize environmental performance
  • Translate ecological and spatial data into procedural models for real-time iteration
  • Collaborate with software engineers to refine tools that quantify ecological processes
  • Work directly with clients to communicate performance outcomes and guide tool application
  • Partner with ecology and computation teams to embed performance metrics into the design process
  • Present design concepts and workflow methodologies to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or Computational Design
  • Portfolio demonstrating computational and generative design in built or landscape contexts
  • Mandatory proficiency in Houdini for computational geometry and procedural modeling
  • Experience developing workflows for site planning, landscape analysis, or performance-based design
  • Ability to synthesize complex environmental data into design logic and visualizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper workflows
