Compounding Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the lab team, providing training and competency assessments
• Prepare and verify non-sterile compounded medications tailored to patient needs
• Build and maintain relationships with physicians and healthcare providers to promote compounding services
• Act as a clinical resource for prescribers regarding formulation guidance and therapeutic alternatives
• Ensure all compounding activities comply with NAPRA Model Standards and provincial regulations
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct regular quality assurance audits
• Oversee maintenance and calibration of compounding equipment and facilities

Requirements

• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulatory body
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in non-sterile compounding within a community pharmacy
• Strong understanding of NAPRA standards and Canadian pharmacy practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in compounding (e.g., PCCA training or equivalent)
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and compounding software
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
