Compounding Lab Manager

Responsibilities

• Direct personnel management for compounding technicians, including performance management, training, and annual reviews
• Oversee daily operations within the compounding labs to ensure quality and patient safety
• Act as a subject matter expert for all equipment in the compounding suites and work with suppliers to optimize output
• Partner with Quality Operations and the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
• Organize and maintain all support documentation, including environmental controls, scale calibrations, and hood certifications
• Support the development of new compounding initiatives and the timely completion of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Staff non-sterile laboratories as needed to maintain high levels of competency

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician Certification is required
• Proven experience working in a compounding pharmacy
• Deep familiarity with USP 795 and USP 800 standards
• Experience with Computer Rx pharmacy software
• Strong knowledge of compounding SOPs and pharmacy operating systems
• Excellent inventory management, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff and management in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs
