Compositing Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee seamless compositing of multiple elements to maintain visual integrity and film aesthetic
• Work with CG, Character Comp, and Tracking leads to ensure smooth element handoffs
• Manage shot progress, deadlines, and quality control while contributing to on-the-box work
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and mentorship to the compositing team
• Collaborate with TDs to develop tools, improve workflows, and diagnose technical problems
• Translate notes from VFX Supervisors and Directors into actionable team tasks
• Create efficient Nuke scripts, templates, and documentation to speed up workflows

Requirements

• 7+ years of high-end live-action film or episodic compositing experience
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a compositing team
• Expert knowledge of Nuke, Gizmos, and Group workflows
• Experience with complex shots involving projections, warping, and photographic optical effects
• Strong understanding of DMP and CG pipelines
• Experience with OCIO/ACES color management
• Proficiency with lidar scans, HDRIs, and photogrammetry
• Deep understanding of cinematography, color science, and visual language

Preferred Qualifications

• Nuke particles experience
• Knowledge of KeenTools
• Python scripting for Nuke or batch automation
• Experience developing pipeline tools with Technical Directors
• Familiarity with performance-tracking pipelines or rotomation
• Basic experience with Unreal Engine or real-time rendering tools
