Composites Specialist

Responsibilities

• Analyze and validate client needs regarding composite materials, considering mechanical, thermal, and environmental constraints
• Conduct research and innovation on new materials (thermoplastics, recyclable composites) and emerging processes
• Define composite part thicknesses and optimize ply orientation and layup for performance
• Collaborate with calculation teams to validate mechanical integrity (fatigue, stress resistance)
• Use specialized tools such as Catia Composite Design (CPD) and CatFiber for design and simulation
• Master manufacturing methods including manual/automated draping, infusion, RTM, and thermoforming
• Support production teams to ensure part conformity and anticipate industrial challenges like recyclability and costs
• Lead composite projects from feasibility studies to delivery
• Act as a technical interface between clients, design, calculation, and production teams
• Provide technical expertise during pre-sales phases and animate the professional community through knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Knowledge of aeronautical standards (e.g., Airbus, Boeing specifications)
• Proficiency in calculation software such as Ansys or Nastran
• Experience with manufacturing processes: draping, infusion, RTM, or thermoforming
• Knowledge of quality control methods (NDT, mechanical testing)
• Technical English fluency is mandatory
• Strong leadership and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Catia Composite Design (CPD)
• Proficiency in CatFiber
