Composites Design Engineering Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and develop 3D models for composite structures using 3DExperience Composites Part Design (CPD)
• Select optimal CPD methodology based on manufacturing constraints
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and designers to meet project specifications
• Work with internal and external fabricators to oversee part manufacturing
• Implement design modifications to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Apply knowledge of composite manufacturing processes including Hand Lay-up, RTM, Pre-preg, Vacuum Bagging, and Autoclave
• Prepare vendor design packages including drawings and CAD files

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of composites design experience, preferably in aerospace
• Mastery of 3D CAD software (3DExperience or CATIA/ENOVIA preferred)
• Broad experience in composites, hybrid composites/metallic structures, and associated testing
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in self-stiffened skins, frame construction, and sandwich skin/frame design
• Hands-on experience in production or R&D environments
