Composites Design and Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end metallic and composite components for next-gen aircraft using CAD
• Manage detailed assemblies including composites with associated manufacturing models and tooling
• Work with internal and external fabricators to oversee part manufacturing
• Integrate different systems installed within the aircraft structure
• Create assembly and part level drawings, technical data packages, and BOMs
• Develop and build first article components and assemble prototypes
• Develop scalable manufacturing processes in parallel with product design
• Mentor team members and coordinate agile team goals and timelines

Requirements

• Experience with supplier management and development for R&D composite tooling and parts
• Experience with layup of first article components and layup methodology development
• Proficiency with machine shop tools including lathe, mill, welder, and machining of composites
• Experience developing material systems for Aerospace applications, specifically low-cost prototype pathways including out of autoclave
