Composite Straightener Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Roll Mills, Bruderer Straighteners, and accessory equipment to process bi-metal coil stock
• Load, unload, and operate electric vacuum annealing furnaces using overhead electric hoists
• Monitor furnace operations via temperature recording charts and inspect for damaged seals or elements
• Adjust rollers, carbide spacers, and guides to achieve required thickness, straightness, and camber
• Perform ultrasonic and laser inspections to locate and mark defective welds
• Maintain production records and enter data into computers for statistical quality control
• Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain equipment logs
• Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and practices to maintain a neat and orderly work area

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and the use of micrometers
• Proficiency with numbers, including the ability to use decimals
• Ability to perform light physical effort, such as lifting, pushing, or pulling 5 to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation environment
