Composite Paint, Prep, & Sanding Technician

About the role
Responsibilities
- Apply primer and top paint to composite panels using spray guns in accordance with predefined processes
- Prepare surfaces by removing dust and contaminants using compressed air or chemical wipes
- Perform minor sanding and surface preparation prior to painting
- Inspect finished parts for imperfections such as fish eyes, solvent pops, pinholes, and dry paint
- Verify paint thickness using a thickness gage after parts are dry and de-masked
- Maintain spray guns and breathable air hoods by cleaning and replacing worn parts or filters
- Manage daily paint booth operations, including cleaning and preparing the booth for subsequent runs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of professional painting experience
- Proficiency using tools such as spray guns, sanders, and sanding blocks
- Ability to wear required safety gear, including respirators, face shields, coveralls, and steel-toe footwear
- Ability to work a weekly rotating shift schedule (day/afternoon)
- Ability to pass an annual medical examination
