Composite Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create detailed work instructions and engineering documentation to support composite production, testing, and tooling.
• Act as a technical liaison between Design Engineering and the production shop to troubleshoot issues and ensure design intent is met.
• Develop tools, shop aids, and test plans to support new composite techniques and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot tooling, composite parts, and non-conformances to resolve production issues.
• Support hypersonic vehicle integrated testing and contribute to composite design efforts as required.
• Analyze engineering requirements to estimate fabrication time and ensure producibility within cost and schedule margins.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience with composite materials (Carbon, Fiberglass, Pre-preg, etc.) and curing processes (autoclave and out-of-autoclave).
• Experience with aerospace production documentation, including drawings and work orders.
• Hands-on experience with aircraft composite repair, inspections, and structural replacement.
• Proficiency with PDM systems and engineering revision control processes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active security clearance.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling software such as NX, CATIA, or Solidworks.
• Familiarity with configuration management systems like Jira.
• Experience with Siemens Capital or Mentor Graphics.
