About the role
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, install, and assemble composite structures using wet lay-up and pre-preg processes
- Perform dry fits, sub-assemblies, and integration of aircraft components
- Execute proper vacuum bagging of parts to ensure conformity during cure cycles
- Operate ovens and monitor composite curing cycles
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Use various hand tools including air saws, angle grinders, and drill motors
- Maintain a safe and organized work area with strict adherence to FOD and tool control
- Operate ground handling equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts
- Work at heights of 15ft or higher and in confined spaces as required
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in composite airframe and structure fabrication, installation, and assembly
- Strong understanding of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and tool control protocols
- Ability to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, nights, or weekends
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Preferred Qualifications
- Current A&P license
- Experience with high-temperature materials (BMI resins, titanium, high-temperature epoxies)
- Experience with high-tolerance assembly techniques, including laser metrology and precision jigging
- Experience with the application, repair, and replacement of thermal protection system materials
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies
