Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the re-qualifying of existing residents for continued occupancy
• Assist in the qualification of prospective residents
• Perform file audits to identify errors or missing documentation
• Conduct site visits to review resident files and implement standardization
• Prepare for and attend affordable and LIHTC audits by state and regulatory agencies
• Review applications to determine eligibility for affordable housing programs
• Field inquiries regarding income, asset eligibility, rents, and compliance requirements
• Assist with implementation of new rent/income limits and utility allowance calculations
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing, ADA, and other industry laws

Requirements

• 2 years of Affordable Multi-Housing experience
• 2 years of property management experience
• Certified Occupancy Specialist or similar certification required
• Familiarity with local housing agencies and rental subsidy programs
• Proficiency in Yardi Voyager Property Management software
• Extensive knowledge of Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Ability to travel within the region via airline, train, or automobile

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex regulatory agreements and compliance regulations
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
