About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the Issue Management Process by tracking and trending issues from identification through to closure, validation, and remediation.
  • Develop and implement a specific Issue Management procedure for the North America team.
  • Create metrics and reporting to track timely completion rates and communicate findings to Senior Management.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine why specific compliance issues arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, operations, finance, legal, and people teams to embed compliance into business processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Risk, Compliance (2LoD), or Internal Audit within the fintech or banking sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of Federal regulations, including Regulation E, UDAAP, and UCC 4A.
  • Expertise in Issue Management lifecycles, including Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action Plans, and validation testing.
  • Proficiency using Jira and Audit Board for tracking regulatory findings and workflow automation.
  • Strong data visualization skills using tools like Looker or Excel to design executive-level dashboards and define Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with auditors and regulators.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant compliance certifications such as CAMS or CRCM.
  • Experience using Confluence or other GRC tools for policy management.
  • Exposure to Canadian regulatory requirements (RPAA, FINTRAC).
  • Experience working in a product-led or tech-first company.
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience in a legal support function.
