Compliance Manager - Deputy MLRO

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of AML/CFT controls, transaction monitoring, and compliance policies
• Design, manage, and tune the transaction monitoring programme, including rule governance and blockchain analytics
• Investigate escalated alerts and prepare/submit SAR/STR filings to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit (UAEFIU)
• Oversee KYC/CDD operations and conduct EDD reviews for high-risk clients such as PEPs
• Manage the firm’s sanctions screening process and escalate confirmed matches to the MLRO
• Act as Deputy MLRO, assuming full responsibilities during the Head of Compliance's absence
• Support the preparation of CMA submissions, inspection materials, and regulatory responses
• Design and deliver role-specific AML/CFT training across the organization
• Draft and maintain internal compliance policies aligned with CMA rules and FATF recommendations
• Monitor regulatory developments in the UAE to ensure timely updates to internal controls

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Law, or a related field
• 4-5 years of hands-on AML/financial crime and compliance experience within a regulated financial services or virtual asset environment
• Deep familiarity with UAE CMA regulations and the local AML/CFT legal framework
• Practical experience using blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis or Crystal Intelligence
• Proven track record of preparing and submitting suspicious transaction reports (SAR/STR)
• Professional proficiency in English; Arabic proficiency is a strong advantage
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, or ICA are highly advantageous
