Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and monitoring of site health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) systems
• Ensure comprehensive risk assessments and safe systems of work across waste processing and AD operations
• Manage incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis
• Oversee emergency preparedness and response, including fire safety and gas risks
• Deliver SHEQ training, inductions, and toolbox talks
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits and regulatory requirements
• Monitor environmental performance including emissions, odour, and waste
• Maintain integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)

Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
• Experience in waste management, recycling, or anaerobic digestion (desirable)
• Ability to manage environmental permits and regulator relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and auditing skills
