Compliance Director

Responsibilities

• Serve as the FSRA-approved COMLRO, holding senior management responsibility for compliance and financial crime matters for the ADGM entity
• Act as Data Protection Officer, overseeing governance, regulatory engagement, and incident reporting under ADGM regulations
• Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework covering AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud, ABC, and market integrity
• Lead regulatory management, including policy development, horizon scanning, and the submission of all FSRA returns and notifications
• Oversee financial crime operations, including client due diligence, sanctions screening, and blockchain investigations
• Serve as the primary liaison with the FSRA and other UAE authorities
• Provide compliance oversight for third-party outsourcing arrangements and technology providers
• Partner with Risk and Technology teams on operational resilience and cyber considerations
• Lead enterprise-level risk assessments and deliver targeted compliance training

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Financial Crime & Compliance within financial services
• Previous COMLRO approval and experience overseeing a compliance function
• Deep expertise in UAE, ADGM, and FSRA regulatory frameworks
• Leadership experience managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders
• Knowledge of digital asset regulation and a strong interest in blockchain technology
• UAE residency or passport holder with the ability to work regularly from ADGM
• Exceptional communication skills and a reputation for integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within digital asset firms or custody services
• Proficiency with blockchain analytics tools
