Compliance Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain trade surveillance applications and analytical tools using Python and SQL
• Create automated reports and dashboards for surveillance metrics and compliance performance indicators
• Configure and optimize surveillance system rules to improve detection effectiveness and reduce false positives
• Develop custom detection algorithms for specialized or emerging compliance risks
• Provide quantitative analysis for complex investigations, including reconstruction of trading patterns
• Support operational reporting to external platforms, such as the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT)
• Collaborate with Data Platform and technology teams to maintain reporting infrastructure
• Maintain detailed documentation of data processes, system configurations, and analytical methods

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with data analysis libraries such as Pandas, Polars, or NumPy
• Experience with data visualization tools like Plotly, Matplotlib, or Seaborn
• Experience with Git version control and a Windows development environment
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or technical field
• Ability to obtain FINRA SIE and Series 57 licenses within six months of employment
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience querying large-scale datasets using MS SQL or similar big data technologies
• Familiarity with dashboard platforms such as PowerBI, Grafana, or Jupyter
• Background in financial services, proprietary trading, or regulatory organizations
• Experience with machine learning or statistical modeling for anomaly detection
