About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with complex autism and learning disabilities within their home environment.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and individual support plans to promote wellbeing and independence.
- Support individuals with daily living skills, personal development, and social integration.
- Recognise and respond proactively to signs of anxiety or distress to prevent escalation.
- Assist with appointments, shopping, holidays, and participation in meaningful community activities.
- Administer and manage medication safely and accurately.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and communication logs.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting individuals with autism and learning difficulties.
- Valid UK Manual driving licence and access to a car.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, on a rota basis.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of person-centred approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
