Compiler Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize code generation for the open-source OxCaml compiler
• Drive the full cycle of identifying optimizations, coding, testing, benchmarking, and deployment
• Work across intermediate representations including CPS, SSA, and Sea of Nodes
• Collaborate with teams and individuals across Jane Street worldwide

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer with a track record of writing correct code quickly
• Proficiency with debuggers such as lldb and gdb
• Experience with low-level Linux tools
• Proven experience managing a team of developers alongside technical work
• Background with any compiler toolchain

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of LLVM
• Familiarity with x86-64 and AArch64 architectures at the assembly and architectural level
• Willingness to use AI assistance to accelerate production changes
