Competitive Swim Coach

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct swim practices aligned with team goals and athlete development
• Provide technical instruction on all four competitive strokes, starts, turns, and finishes
• Develop season training plans including conditioning and competition preparation
• Prepare swimmers for local, regional, and national competitions
• Attend swim meets to provide on-deck coaching and support
• Maintain attendance, training, and performance records
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and team leadership
• Maintain a safe training environment and enforce facility rules
• Provide support and oversight to the Grade 5 "Learn to Swim" program

Requirements

• Previous competitive swimming and/or coaching experience
• Certification through USA Swimming
• Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and race strategies
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and competition schedules
• Ability to stand on the pool deck for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coaching age-group, senior, or elite swimmers
• Knowledge of athlete development models and performance analysis
• Experience using swim meet management and team communication software
