Compensation Business Partner, R&D

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to Engineering and Product leaders, advising on complex compensation decisions including new hire offers, promotions, and retention strategies.
• Deliver data-driven recommendations by combining market intelligence, industry trends, and internal talent insights.
• Lead end-to-end compensation initiatives such as annual planning, promotion cycles, and equity award cycles.
• Evaluate global compensation programs and recommend improvements to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business priorities.
• Design and maintain compensation tools, dashboards, and automated reporting solutions to improve data accessibility.
• Create compensation communications and training materials to drive organizational engagement and understanding.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience supporting global compensation programs, ideally supporting Engineering or Product organizations.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a high bar for accuracy.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and hands-on experience with an HRIS (Workday preferred).
• Familiarity with compensation insights tools such as Radford or Compa.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using AI to develop compensation tools, dashboards, or to streamline workflows.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
