About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform in vivo studies including dosing (IV, IP, PO, SC, IM), blood sampling, anesthesia, euthanasia, and tissue harvest in laboratory rodents
  • Monitor the health and behavior of laboratory rodents and assist with the administration of veterinary treatments
  • Perform surgical preparation and provide post-operative care and monitoring under minimal direction
  • Execute data acquisition and entry following good documentation practices and adherence to SOPs
  • Maintain procedure room spaces and ensure study supplies are adequately stocked and inspection-ready
  • Support rotating weekend, holiday, or overtime coverage as needed to accommodate operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a biological science
  • 1-4 years of experience in a laboratory animal research setting
  • Proficiency with basic laboratory rodent techniques, anatomy, and behavior
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and a collaborative work approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • AALAS technical certification (ALAT, LAT, or LATG)
  • Familiarity with various types of data acquisition and protocol management software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
