Company Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the organization’s security clearance and ensure it remains in good standing
• Act as the official point of contact with the CSP on all security matters
• Interpret and apply security clauses from federal contracts to ensure organizational adherence
• Initiate security screening requests and complete preliminary background checks
• Brief and train employees on security responsibilities and promote security awareness
• Manage security screening files in compliance with Privacy Act and PIPEDA
• Conduct security site assessments and maintain records of annual inspections
• Ensure subcontractors and third parties meet federal security requirements
• Report security incidents or compromised assets to senior management and the CSP
• Obtain Designated Official status for Controlled Goods Clearance and manage CGP assessments
• Develop internal policies to ensure compliance with CSP and CGP

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance (mandatory)
• Canadian citizenship
• 3+ years as a CSO or 5+ years as an ACSO in a Canadian professional services or government contracting environment
• Proven experience managing end-to-end security processes and elevating corporate facility clearance
• Experience with the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
• Ability to work onsite in the Ottawa office
