Community Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support, supervision, and mentorship to youth in the foster care system.
• Support youth in managing challenging behaviors and emotions while maintaining a safe, structured environment.
• Engage youth in activities that promote emotional regulation, personal growth, and community reintegration.
• Complete accurate documentation, reports, and required records on time.
• Facilitate daily routines, including hygiene, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
• Supervise youth during community outings, transportation, and overnight periods (for night shift).
• Enforce organizational policies and maintain strict professional boundaries.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass all required background checks.
• Willingness to use de-escalation techniques, including physical interventions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, integrity, and empathy.
• Ability to work continuous shifts of up to 10 hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with youth facing behavioral or mental health challenges or within the foster care system.
• Prior de-escalation training or experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Two years of experience in human services or a related bachelor's degree.
