Community Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Act as a mentor and role model for youth, guiding them through community-based activities.
• Help participants achieve specific goals outlined in their individualized treatment plans.
• Create a positive environment through motivation and appropriate behavioral expectations.
• Assist youth in managing challenging behaviors and emotions.
• Provide safe transportation for participants between pick-up locations and community sites.
• Maintain contact with program managers, families, and guardians as needed.
• Complete clinical documentation, attendance sheets, and other required paperwork accurately and timely.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Proper auto insurance.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to actively engage with youth and maintain professional, supportive relationships.
• Exceptional integrity, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children facing behavioral or mental health challenges.
• De-escalation training or experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a human services field or a four-year college degree in a related field.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
