Community Service Worker

Responsibilities

• Support pre-planned community program activities including food bank assistance, crafts, sports, music, and homework stations
• Provide general administrative support such as greeting visitors and managing reception duties
• Assist with public relations events and regular organizational campaigns
• Work collaboratively within a team setting to complete various community service tasks
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all program participants and sensitive information
• Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations

Requirements

• Completion of some high school coursework
• At least one year of related experience in a community or service setting
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Non-Violent Crisis Training certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass a background check and screening, including the Salvation Army Abuse Registry
• Ability to move or lift up to 30 pounds

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with the public
