About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform parking and traffic enforcement, including the use of automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology
  • Conduct regular patrols to identify safety hazards and security concerns
  • Secure buildings, manage access requests, and safeguard university property
  • Complete incident reports and required departmental documentation
  • Respond to non-emergency calls such as motorist assists, animal complaints, and lost article reports
  • Provide escorts and non-emergency transports for the campus community
  • Assist with special events and community outreach initiatives

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of related work experience
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and ability to meet University driving standards
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and around vehicular traffic
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift 10–25 pounds
  • Strong verbal communication and report-writing skills
  • Ability to resolve complaints using tact and diplomacy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in law enforcement, military police, or corrections
  • Experience working with T-2 and ALPR technology
