About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide confidential administrative and logistical support to the Community Relations Department.
- Manage departmental inquiries via email, phone, and in-person visits, ensuring timely responses.
- Coordinate volunteer onboarding and screening processes, including managing police check compliance.
- Support event and program logistics, including venue bookings, registrations, and material preparation.
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and track employee training completion.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems for employees, volunteers, and community materials.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies and workplace violence prevention plans.
- Manage office and program supply inventories and coordinate with approved vendors.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in nonprofit management, public relations, communications, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in coordination or administrative support roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Reliable source of transportation for occasional travel to work sites or vendors.
- Satisfactory Police Information Check (PIC).
- Satisfactory Child Intervention Check Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal college or post-secondary degree in Business Administration.
- Previous experience working within the nonprofit or community services sector.
