Community Ministry Worker

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food services operations to ensure compliance with the Canada Food Guide and health regulations
• Assist in food recovery by sorting and distributing food donations
• Perform janitorial duties including sweeping, washing floors, and sanitizing dishes and equipment
• Drive to pick up food donations or drop off recycling and electronics when volunteers are unavailable
• Greet and assist donors and guests, providing information about available services
• Monitor equipment and log refrigerator temperatures to ensure food safety
• Maintain inventory tracking and assist with food bank materials management
• Build transforming relationships with guests and donors by monitoring their well-being
• Ensure client and volunteer safety by adhering to all health and safety standards and OH&S regulations

Requirements

• Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Safe Food Handling Certification
• Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
• Minimum of two years of prior related experience
• Ability to lift and move up to 80 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform frequent reaching, bending, and stooping
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to pass applicable background and screening checks
