Community Ministries Assistant/Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist in the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the Food Bank and Meal Centre
• Provide emergency food hampers to clients with empathy and concern
• Sort, organize, and process non-monetary donations and purchased products
• Provide courteous customer service and process transactions at the thrift store sales counter
• Maintain tidy product displays and assist with store layout and merchandising
• Receive, sort, price, and stock donations in the thrift store
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, unloading trucks, and climbing ladders
• Support volunteers by preparing workstations and assisting with tasks

Requirements

• Between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• High school completion
• Fluency in English
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical labor
• Consent to a background check and a clear vulnerable sector screening
• A clean driver's abstract
• Eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs program (must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident; international students on study permits are not eligible)
