About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and assistance to clients with developmental disabilities or mental health needs
- Assist with daily living skills including grooming, toileting, eating, laundry, shopping, and household upkeep
- Support nutritional guidance through meal planning, food preparation, and encouraging healthy eating habits
- Assist with client transfers, ambulation, and positioning
- Implement and support Individualized Instruction and Support Plans
- Promote positive community integration and social growth for clients
- Interact professionally with families, advocates, guardians, and case managers
- Participate in required training and departmental meetings
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Access to a safe, reliable vehicle with proof of automobile insurance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Nursing Assistant Registration through the Washington Department of Health
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Ability to pass a background check and provide an acceptable driving abstract
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of unequal weight
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience or training working with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health illnesses
- Familiarity with County and Agency policies and procedures
