Community Liaison Officer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structured community relationships to support the SPT CAPEX programme and significant infrastructure projects
• Establish and review relationships with key community stakeholders through presentations and discussions
• Organise community engagement activities such as drop-in sessions, agricultural shows, and gala days
• Prepare and draft responses to major project enquiries and community complaints
• Work with project teams to minimise disruption through proactive communication and awareness raising
• Manage the SPT Community Tracker to ensure enquiries and complaints are recorded for KPI reporting
• Create content for internal and external channels, including social media, video content, and project websites
• Respond to community input requirements during emergency situations or storms

Requirements

• Proven experience in community relations and stakeholder engagement roles
• Experience working within a project-related environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict diffusion skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and influence challenging discussions
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
• Understanding of Net Zero goals and their impact on local communities
• Full UK Drivers Licence
