About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Hospitality Services and university departments, community organizations, alumni, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, hotels, tourism organizations, and civic groups.
  • Coordinate hospitality services for campus events, including conferences, workshops, commencements, and athletic events.
  • Manage guest services for VIP visits, donor events, and board meetings, including lodging, transportation, and catering arrangements.
  • Promote university hospitality facilities and event spaces to internal and external clients.
  • Conduct outreach efforts to increase community engagement and utilization of university services.
  • Assist with vendor selection, contract coordination, and service delivery.
  • Address customer concerns and implement strategies to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Support budget management and prepare reports related to hospitality and engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in hospitality services, event planning, conference services, or community relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service and building community partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support event needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in higher education or hospitality management.
  • Experience working with diverse populations in a university environment.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale events or special programs.
  • Knowledge of conference management software or CRM platforms.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS).
  • Experience with budget management and vendor contract administration.
