Community Health Clinical Instructor

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical education and supervision for nursing students within healthcare agencies
• Supervise a group of students (typically six per group) during clinical rotations
• Orient students to clinical areas, policies, and proper medical procedures
• Develop patient care assignments to help students meet course objectives, including medication administration and skill mastery
• Conduct pre-conferences to establish priorities and post-conferences to facilitate student reflection
• Evaluate and grade student performance using established rubrics
• Maintain professional relationships with clinical sites and coordinate student assignments with site clinicians
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to ongoing program evaluation activities

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing
• Minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Nursing or currently matriculated in a Master’s in Nursing program
• Evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in academic and professional communities

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed Master’s degree in Nursing
• Demonstrated experience in clinical instruction and professional development within academic communities
