Community Engagement Officer

Responsibilities

• Support Bristol communities in becoming cleaner and greener through engagement and innovation project delivery
• Promote recycling and clean streets by acting as a contact point for residents, Councillors, and community groups
• Support campaign activity focused on reducing residual waste and driving environmental behavior change
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, schools, and Bristol City Council officers
• Represent Bristol Waste Company at community meetings and various public events
• Collaborate with operational and marketing teams to resolve service issues and promote core messages
• Gather data and conduct research to support KPI reporting and strategic briefings

Requirements

• Proven experience in community engagement with positive results
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, including school children and elected officials
• Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and proactive attitude
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and general ICT skills
• Ability to work autonomously, manage workloads, and meet deadlines
• Current, valid full UK driving licence
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
